About
Opened at the end of the nineteenth century, the theatre's richly decorated façade faces a small square just off the main shopping street. It is the leading stage in southern Hungary for drama, opera and ballet, and its restored auditorium is a fine example of the era's theatre design.
Best time to go: Admire the façade on an evening walk, or catch a performance if you are staying the night.
