About
In late Roman Sopianae, Christians built burial chambers and chapels decorated with wall paintings of Adam and Eve, Daniel in the lions' den and early Christian symbols. Protected beneath a modern visitor centre near the cathedral, it is one of the most important early Christian cemeteries outside Italy.
Best time to go: Start at the Cella Septichora visitor centre and allow time for the painted burial chambers.
