About
Monet gave the state eight huge Water Lilies paintings, installed in two oval rooms lit by daylight as he wished. Downstairs is a fine collection of Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse and Picasso. It makes a calm counterpoint to the Louvre nearby.
Best time to go: Weekday mornings, for Monet's Water Lilies in quiet.
