About
Rebuilt by Francesco Sforza in the fifteenth century, the castle became one of the most splendid courts of Renaissance Italy, where Leonardo worked for Ludovico il Moro. Its museums include ancient and applied art, musical instruments and the Rondanini Pietà, which Michelangelo was carving days before his death.
Best time to go: Walk the courtyards for free, then choose a museum; Michelangelo's last Pietà is the highlight.
