About
Opened in 2002 on land over the railway yards, the square was designed by Lab Architecture Studio with a distinctive fractured cladding of sandstone, zinc and glass. It houses the Ian Potter Centre, which shows the National Gallery of Victoria's Australian collection, and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, and it hosts events throughout the year.
Best time to go: Use it as a starting point for the city, and look into the free Australian art galleries on site.
