About
Kampung Kling Mosque was established in 1748 by Indian Muslim traders, making it one of the oldest mosques on the Malay Peninsula. The first building was wooden, and it was rebuilt in brick in 1872. It stands on Goldsmith Street, also called Harmony Street for its neighbours, the Sri Poyatha Moorthi Temple and Cheng Hoon Teng Temple. The mosque keeps its traditional Malaccan design, with a mix of architectural influences.
