About
Completed at the end of the 1990s beside the railway station, the building by the French architect Jean Nouvel reaches out over the lake beneath a thin, dramatic roof. It houses a concert hall renowned for its acoustics, home to the Lucerne Festival, as well as the Kunstmuseum Luzern and terraces with views across the water to the old town and Pilatus.
Best time to go: Walk beneath the great cantilevered roof at dusk, or book a concert to hear the famous acoustics.
