About
Built in the fourteenth century as part of the town's defences, the Chapel Bridge is one of the oldest covered wooden bridges in Europe. Triangular paintings under its roof depict scenes from local history, many of them restored after a fire in 1993, and the octagonal Water Tower beside it once served as a prison and treasury.
Best time to go: Cross early in the morning, when the flower boxes and the Water Tower are reflected in the calm river.
