About
On 23 March 1940 the All-India Muslim League met on this ground and passed the Lahore Resolution, the first formal call for a separate homeland for the Muslims of British India. The tower was built between 1960 and 1968 to mark that moment. It stands in Greater Iqbal Park, a 329-acre green space with a lake and a musical fountain, a short walk from Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort.
Best time to go: Come in the early evening, when families fill the park and the tower is lit.
