About
The War Remnants Museum on Võ Văn Tần Street holds exhibits on the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War. It presents the wars from a Vietnamese perspective and does not spare visitors the human cost of the fighting. It lies a short walk from the Independence Palace, and the two together give a sobering picture of the country's twentieth century. Take your time, and plan something quieter for afterwards.
Best time to go: Go early and allow at least two hours; some of the exhibits are distressing.
