About

The Pinang Peranakan Mansion on Church Street is a museum devoted to the heritage of Penang's Peranakan community. The green mansion was once the home and office of Chung Keng Quee, a 19th-century Chinese tycoon. Inside are thousands of Peranakan artefacts, antiques and collectibles. The rooms show the community's interior design and customs, down to the long banquet table known as the tok panjang.
