About

The only Florentine bridge the retreating German army spared in 1944, Ponte Vecchio has carried shops since the Middle Ages. Butchers worked here until 1593, when the Medici replaced them with goldsmiths. The best photos of it are taken from Ponte Santa Trinita, just downstream.

Best time to go: Sunset, viewed from Ponte Santa Trinita.
