About

Filippo Strozzi began the palace in 1489 to rival the Medici, with massive rusticated stone walls and an elegant courtyard. It now hosts large temporary exhibitions of historic and contemporary art. The courtyard is free to enter and often has an installation of its own.

Best time to go: Weekday late afternoon; check the current exhibition first.
