About
Designed by József Hild and built in the 1830s, the basilica rises above a broad flight of steps flanked by statues of Hungarian saints. Its columned portico, vast dome and painted interior give it a restrained grandeur, and it is home to a celebrated organ.
Best time to go: Listen out for the organ recitals held on many days in the tourist season.
