About
The mosque was founded by Hui Muslims, known in Thailand as Chin Haw, whose caravan traders and settlers came to the north from Yunnan. It remains the centre of the city's Muslim community and offers a glimpse of Chiang Rai's often overlooked cultural diversity.
Best time to go: Visit outside prayer times, dress modestly and try the Yunnanese food in the streets nearby.
