About
An ingenious system of air vents allowed the bodies buried here from the seventeenth century onwards to dry and mummify naturally. Capuchin friars lie on simple beds of bricks, and the crypt also holds the remains of the adventurer and soldier Baron Franz von der Trenck, once imprisoned at Špilberk.
Best time to go: Combine it with the Cabbage Market next door, and allow a quiet half hour.
