Unveiled in 2010, the bullet-shaped monument recalls the defence of Brno against the Swedes in 1645. Its time is famously hard to read, but the daily ritual draws a crowd: at eleven o'clock a glass marble rolls out of one of four openings, and whoever catches it keeps it as a souvenir.
Best time to go: Be on Freedom Square just before eleven, when the clock releases a glass marble for a lucky catcher.
