About
Named after the constitution King Otto was forced to grant in 1843, Syntagma has been the stage for the nation's celebrations and protests ever since. Across the road the former royal palace now houses Parliament, guarded by Evzones in kilts and pom-pommed shoes, and the National Garden offers shade just behind.
Best time to go: Arrive just before the hour to watch the changing of the Evzone guard in front of Parliament.
