About
Rising some 277 metres above sea level, Lycabettus looks out over the Acropolis, the sprawl of the city and the Saronic Gulf beyond. The whitewashed Chapel of Saint George sits on the summit, reached by pine-scented paths or a funicular railway tunnelled through the rock.
Best time to go: Walk up or take the funicular about an hour before sunset to watch the city light up below.
