About
The temple was built in Ancyra, capital of Roman Galatia, and dedicated to Augustus and Rome. Its walls preserve the Res Gestae, the emperor's account of his achievements, inscribed in Latin and Greek, a rare survival of this important text.
Best time to go: Look for the long inscription on the walls, listing the deeds of Augustus.
