The museum was built around the collection kept by the artist's family, and follows his short career from the dark Dutch peasant scenes to the vivid canvases of Arles and Saint-Rémy. Highlights include Sunflowers, The Potato Eaters and The Bedroom, together with letters and works by his contemporaries.
