About
Opened in 1865 and named after the poet Joost van den Vondel, the park was designed in the English landscape style. It is busy with cyclists, runners and picnickers, and it has a rose garden, an open-air theatre used in summer and a handsome nineteenth-century pavilion.
Best time to go: Rent a bike and ride through on a sunny afternoon, or picnic on the lawns.
