Opened in 1865, the zoo is the oldest in Poland and holds one of the country's largest collections of animals. Its Afrykarium, opened in 2014, recreates African habitats from the Red Sea to the Congo basin, with a walk-through tunnel beneath sharks and rays.
Best time to go: Plan a morning around the Afrykarium, then walk across to Centennial Hall.
