About

Opened in 1986, it was the first full-scale classical Chinese garden built outside China, created by craftsmen from Suzhou using traditional methods. Pavilions, covered walkways, rockeries and a jade-green pond are arranged to reveal changing views. It offers a calm pause in the middle of the city.

Best time to go: Join a guided tour to learn the symbolism of the rocks, water and plants, then stroll the free park next door.
