About
Built in the late eighteenth century for the Dutch consul and later enlarged by the Marquis of Marialva, the palace is now a hotel. Its lawns and arch look out towards the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle on the ridge above.
Best time to go: Walk here from the old town and enjoy the view through the triumphal arch.
