About
Designed by the Italian-born architect Nicolau Nasoni in the eighteenth century, the church has an unusual oval nave and a richly decorated facade. Its bell tower, once the tallest structure in the country, rewards the long climb with panoramic views over the city and the river.
Best time to go: Climb the tower late in the afternoon for the clearest views over the rooftops.
