About
Laid out from 1789 on the initiative of Benjamin Thompson, later Count Rumford, the English Garden follows the natural style of English landscape parks. It stretches for kilometres along the Isar, with the Monopteros temple on its hill, the Chinese Tower and its beer garden, and the standing wave on the Eisbach where surfers ride all year.
Best time to go: Start at the Eisbach wave to watch the surfers, then walk to the Chinese Tower beer garden.
