About

The Kuching Waterfront is a promenade almost two kilometres long on the southern bank of the Sarawak River. It has become the leading visitor destination in the state. From here you look across the water to the Astana, Fort Margherita and the Legislative Assembly building. The Darul Hana Bridge links it to the north bank, and the old Chinese quarter lies just behind.

Best time to go: Stroll it in the early evening, when the heat eases and the buildings across the river light up.
