About
Laid out in 1257, the Rynek Główny has been the stage of city life for more than seven centuries. The Renaissance Cloth Hall stands at its centre, St Mary's Basilica and the Town Hall Tower rise at its edges, and its colourful facades hide cellars, cafés and the underground museum beneath the paving.
Best time to go: Listen for the trumpet call from St Mary's tower on the hour, and return after dark for the lights.
