About
For around four centuries after Mehmed II built it, Topkapı was the seat of the Ottoman court. Its courtyards lead to the Harem, the tiled pavilions, the Imperial Treasury with its jewelled dagger, and a collection of sacred relics, with terraces overlooking the Bosphorus.
Best time to go: Arrive at opening, visit the Harem first, and allow at least half a day.
