About

The facade, finished by Leon Battista Alberti in the fifteenth century, set the rules for Renaissance church fronts. Inside are Masaccio's Holy Trinity, one of the first paintings to use linear perspective, a painted crucifix by Giotto, and Ghirlandaio's frescoes filled with portraits of Florentine society. The cloisters and museum are included in the ticket.

Best time to go: Right after opening, before trains bring in the day-trippers.
