About
Built over the late sixteenth and seventeenth centuries on the site of an Inca palace, the cathedral used stones taken from Sacsayhuamán. It holds hundreds of paintings by the Cusco School, where indigenous and mestizo artists blended European and Andean imagery, and its silver altars and carved choir stalls are among its treasures.
