About
Opened in 1847 to designs by Jean-Pierre Cluysenaar, the galleries run in three linked sections beneath an arched glass and iron roof. Their shopfronts house chocolatiers, booksellers, cafés, a theatre and a cinema, and the arcade remains one of the most graceful covered walks in any European city.
Best time to go: Stroll through on a rainy afternoon and stop for chocolate at one of the historic chocolatiers.
