About
Built as the western gate of the city in the early thirteenth century, the tower later served as a prison before gaining its clock in the fifteenth century. Before each hour a rooster crows, a jester rings bells and a parade of bears circles, while guided tours show the working mechanism inside.
Best time to go: Arrive a few minutes before the hour to watch the figures perform, or join a guided tour inside.
