About
Begun in 1421 and only completed with its spire in 1893, the minster rises above the old town. Its main portal holds more than two hundred carved figures of the Last Judgement, and the tower, the tallest church tower in the country, looks out over the river Aare to the Bernese Alps.
Best time to go: Climb the tower for a view of the Alps on a clear day, then rest on the Münsterplattform.
