About
Imperial gardens have occupied this site for around a thousand years, and the Jade Flower Island was topped in 1651 by the White Dagoba, a Tibetan-style stupa. Around the lake you find temples, pavilions and the glazed Nine-Dragon Wall, and in summer the water is covered with lotus.
Best time to go: Hire a small boat on the lake on a fine afternoon and climb to the White Dagoba.
