About
This lane dates back to the Yuan dynasty and sits within one of the best-preserved networks of old Beijing alleys. Its main street is busy with snack stalls and boutiques, but the hutongs branching off it still hold traditional courtyard houses, former mansions and glimpses of neighbourhood life.
Best time to go: Walk the main lane early, then slip into the quieter side hutongs to see courtyard homes.
