About
The temple enshrines the Emerald Buddha, a small, revered figure carved from green stone, whose robes are changed by the king with the seasons. Around it rise gilded chedis, mosaic-covered pavilions and guardian demons, and the surrounding cloisters are painted with scenes from the Ramakien, the Thai version of the Ramayana.
Best time to go: Visit together with the Grand Palace on the same ticket, and take time over the mural galleries.
