About
The Franciscans arrived soon after the Spanish founded Arequipa, and their church has been rebuilt repeatedly after earthquakes. Its simple, massive sillar walls, silver altar and the adjoining convent with its cloisters and library give a sense of the city's early colonial foundations.
Best time to go: Visit in the morning and browse the craft market on the small plaza outside.
