About
In 1995 the anthropologist Johan Reinhard and his climbing partner found the frozen body of a young girl sacrificed by the Incas near the top of Ampato. The museum explains the ritual of capacocha and displays the offerings found with her, along with other high-altitude finds, and she is shown in a refrigerated case for part of the year.
