About
Rubens bought this house in 1610 and expanded it into a grand Italianate palazzo with a studio for his workshop. The portico and garden pavilion he designed survive, and the rooms display paintings by Rubens and his contemporaries. A modern visitor centre and garden help explain how his busy studio worked.
Best time to go: Check what is open before you go, as the house has been undergoing a major restoration.
