About
Founded as the Prince of Wales Museum and opened in 1922 in a building by George Wittet, the museum sits in gardens at the edge of the Kala Ghoda arts district. Its galleries cover ancient sculpture from across India, Mughal and Rajput miniature paintings, textiles, arms and decorative arts, making it an excellent introduction to the subcontinent.
Best time to go: Pick up the audio guide and focus on the sculpture gallery and the miniature paintings.
