About
Officially opened in 1878, the market is one of the largest open-air markets in the southern hemisphere and a much-loved part of city life. Its Victorian meat and fish hall and art deco dairy hall sell produce from across Victoria, while long rows of sheds are filled with fruit, vegetables, clothing and souvenirs.
Best time to go: Come hungry in the morning, starting in the deli hall and the meat and fish hall.
