About
The first church on the site was begun soon after Lima's founding, and the present building was largely rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1746. Inside are carved choir stalls, gilded side chapels and a museum of religious art, and a chapel near the entrance holds the remains of the conquistador Francisco Pizarro.
Best time to go: Visit in the morning and make time for the chapel holding Francisco Pizarro's tomb.
