About
Founded in 1865, the museum moved into its present building on The Mall in 1894, during the colonial period. It is the largest museum in Pakistan and one of the most visited. The Gandhara galleries hold an extensive collection of Buddhist sculpture from the Indo-Greek era, and other rooms cover the Indus Valley Civilisation, the Mughal and Sikh empires and the British Raj.
Best time to go: Allow a couple of hours and head first to the Gandhara galleries, then walk along The Mall.
