About
Architect Ahmed Hussain Agha designed the palace in 1927 as a summer home for Shivratan Mohatta, a Marwari businessman from Rajasthan. It follows the tradition of Rajasthani stone palaces, combining pink stone from Jodhpur with yellow stone from nearby Gizri. Mohatta enjoyed it for only about two decades before leaving for India after partition, and the building now serves as a museum.
Best time to go: Check which exhibition is on before you go, and allow time to take in the carved stone facade.
