About
Built in the Victorian era, the Merewether Tower stands where Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road meets I. I. Chundrigar Road. It once marked the edge of the city for anyone arriving from the port at Kiamari, and it divided the Old Town from the newer European quarters to the east. Its neo-Gothic stonework remains one of the most recognisable sights in the old commercial centre.
Best time to go: See it on a walk through the old city centre, ideally on a Sunday morning when traffic is lighter.
