About

Also known as the Heritage Museum, Lok Virsa opened in 1974 and is run by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage. Its buildings and outdoor museum present the living cultures of Pakistan's many regions, from dress and crafts to music. It became an autonomous institute in 2002, and its galleries and open-air spaces can take up to 3,000 visitors at a time.

Best time to go: Allow a couple of hours, and combine it with the Pakistan Monument and the Natural History Museum nearby.
