About
Daman-e-Koh sits in the middle of the Margalla Hills at around 2,400 feet above sea level, roughly 500 feet above the city below. Its name joins two Persian words meaning skirt and hill, a poetic way of saying foothills. The terraces are a favourite with residents and visitors alike, and the resident monkeys are well used to people. Leopards have been reported coming down from the higher hills in winter.
Best time to go: Go in the late afternoon for the clearest light over the city, and keep food out of sight of the monkeys.
