About
Established in 1980, the park covers 17,386 hectares, making it the third largest national park in Pakistan. It takes in the Margalla Hills, which form the foothills of the Himalayas, along with Shakarparian and Rawal Lake. Its highest point, Tilla Charouni, reaches 1,604 metres, and popular spots such as Daman-e-Koh and Pir Sohawa lie within its bounds.
Best time to go: Start early in the day, carry water and keep to marked routes; spring and autumn are the most comfortable seasons.
